European Heritage Days in Lorraine

The 39th European Heritage Days take place this weekend, September 17 and 18, 2022, on the theme of “Sustainable Heritage”. The opportunity to (re)discover the treasures of our local heritage. What to see? What to do ? Here is a selection of places to visit.

Guided tours at the People’s Theater in Bussang

Throughout the weekend, the People’s Theater of Bussang opens its doors during 5 guided tours hosted by members of the theater association.

Discovery of the Basilica of St Epvre in Nancy

Two appointments are planned within the basilica:

  • Sunday, September 18 at 3:00 p.m.: discovery of the stained glass windows of the basilicapresented by the director of the Palace of the Dukes of Lorraine, Richard Dagorne
  • September 18 from 4:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.: interpretation by Nathalie Dassi on the organ from the soundtrack of the film Interstellar, composed by Hans Zimmer

You can also freely visit the basilica on Sunday afternoon.

Charles Friry Museum in Remiremont

The Charles Friry Museum in Remiremont offers several activities all weekend long. Of the guided tours are organized and you can for example take part in a family workshop entitled “Recycling is art”, by bringing an object destined for the trash to make an artistic creation. Also take the opportunity to discover “Fragments”, a exhibition of paintings and engravings by the artist Isabelle Garnier-Luraschi around the theme of plant fragments.

Breath of Life workshop in Sainte-Geneviève

Installed since 2017 on the hill of Sainte-Geneviève, attend live the manufacture of blown glass objects at the Souffre de Vie Workshop.

Schedule : from Friday 16 to Sunday 18 September from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m.

For the occasion, the Saint-Nicolas-de-Port Brewery Museum is extending its opening hours to the public, who will be able to discover all the manufacturing cycle of beer from the crushing of the malt to the finished product.

A brewing demonstration in small volumes will be produced on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Museum’s pilot brewery.

Also enjoy thetemporary exhibition “The gambrinal bestiary” and collections of works of art or advertising including stained glass windows by Jacques Gruber.
