European elections 2024: La France insoumise launches its campaign

(Franceinfo)

Saturday March 16, Manon Aubry, head of the Insoumis list for the European elections, gave her first campaign speech alongside Jean-Luc Mélenchon. For now, polls give him no more than 8% of the vote.

On the left, they are the last to launch their campaign. The Insoumis are led, as in 2019, by MEP Manon Aubry. And to support her, Jean-Luc Mélenchon made the trip. According to him, the post-Macron era begins today: “We have the right to say that the 2024 European election prepares the presidential election of 2027”. In front of 3,000 activists, the head of the list then launched a determined appeal to all left-wing voters: “To the orphans of Nupes, come and help us!”

LFI overtaken by the socialists

The battle for the Europeans promises to be tough. For the moment, Manon Aubry is stagnating between 7% and 8% in the polls, and the division of the left-wing lists disappoints many activists. “Since I was little, I have learned like you that unity is strength and that division serves the oligarchy”, indicates one of them. But whose fault is it? Some are angry with other members of Nupes. The Insoumis hope to take first place on the left, but for the moment, they are ahead of the Socialists led by Raphaël Glucksmann.
