Europe victorious again, Krystyna Pyszková wins the trophy

The Miss World 2023 election took place this Saturday March 9, 2024 in Mumbai, India. At the end of almost four hours of ceremony, it was Europe which managed to win the trophy, for the second year in a row. It’s Czech Krystyna Pyszková who managed to win and became the new Miss World, facing the Lebanese Yasmina Zaytoun, ranked first runner-up. The Botswanan Lesego Chombo and the Trinidadian Ache Abrahams complete the top 4.

This is the second time that the Czech Republic brandishes the Miss World trophy, eighteen years after Taťána Kuchařová’s victory at Miss World 2006. Last year, it was the Pole Karolina Bielawska who won, allowing Europe to once again hold up a title that had eluded it since the victory of the Spaniard Mireia Lalaguna in 2015. With two titles to her counter, the Czech Republic remains far behind India and Venezuela, who have six trophies each, followed by Jamaica and the United Kingdom, who have both won the competition four times.

Clémence Botino failed to reach the top 12

The Czech Republic, however, manages to do better than France, which has only won the Miss World competition once, in 1953. Since the coronation of Denise Perrier 71 years ago, France has never more managed to convince the whole world. Clémence Botino disappointed this Saturday March 9, 2024 by failing to qualify for the Top 12but nevertheless managed to climb to the Top 40. She does better than Flora Coquerel and Delphine Wespiser in particular, but is far behind April Benayoum who stood out as far as the top 13 in 2021, and even worse than Ophély Mézino, who, in 2019, narrowly missed making Miss history, being first runner-up.

Multilingual and committed to underprivileged children

Aged 24, the new Miss World is 1.80 meters tall and speaks no less than four languages: English, Polish, Slovak and German. International model, Krystyna Pyszková has a double degree in law and business administration. She created her own foundation, which bears her name, and which aims to support disadvantaged children. Thanks to her foundation, she managed to create an English school for disadvantaged children in Tanzania. Passionate about music, she knows how to play the flute and the violin, and spent nine years in a Czech art academy.
