It’s Tuesday, from 9 a.m., that thousands of third-year students are determined about their fate at the start of the next school year. They must receive the results of their applications on the “My Master” platform, set up for two years, the equivalent for Parcoursup masters for high school students.
However, as on Parcoursup, candidates multiply their wishes: they can make up to 15… Which is not without problems for establishments which sometimes find themselves in a flood of applications.
Just ask the question when you leave this university library. Everyone multiplied their wishes. At the same time, the platform is well made, they say, everything is centralized, each training course is easily accessible. “It looks a lot like Parcoursup, testifies a student, that is to say, putting all the chances on our side by already asking for the masters that we want the most, but also many masters that are a bit of a plan B, or even plan C.”
So obviously, the number of applications has exploded over the past two years in certain courses. Jean-François Amadieu supervises two courses in human resources at Paris 1 University. He tells franceinfo that there are 2,500 candidates this year… for barely thirty places. All with the same means as before. “You can’t open 2,500 cover letters, he says. We extract the Excel file from the platform, then we process the grades in license 1, license 2, license 3, we have the results of the bac“, he regrets.
“It’s true that it’s a shame because we can’t treat this influx of applications as interestingly and go into the details of the file.”

According to him, it is difficult to identify in these conditions more atypical profiles, whose skills are not limited to academic results.
