“It’s a very important part that allows us to work safely,” says Stella’s executive director, Sandra Wesley.
At the microphone of Richard Martineau, on QUB radio, Sandra Wesley returned to the trial of an escort driver who killed an owner of an escort agency out of resentment, to explain what is the role of drivers and other employees escort agencies.
Ms. Wesley indicated that these agency employees have a dual role: to move the escorts, and, above all, to put in place security measures.
“It also sends a message to the customer,” she said.
According to her, the fact that a driver makes the crane foot not far from the meeting place is in a way an important point to avoid overflows. Indeed, the customer knows that he cannot exceed a certain line.
Sandra Wesley also explains that the criminalization of the industry is counterproductive for sex workers. Especially since a bond of trust sometimes develops between the escorts and their driver.
In an ideal world, she says, drivers who are there to protect workers should not face justice.
