This Friday, March 11, 2022, The Team shared the most surprising information! Our colleagues have argued that the former renowned footballer Eric Di Meco will participate in the blind auditions of The Voice next March 19. The one who marked the history of the Olympique de Marseille club and that of the French team in the 90s will indeed try to join the adventure with his rock band Osiris. Within this group, Eric Di Meco is bassist and will be accompanied on stage by his five comrades: Axel the singer, Patrick the drummer, and Alain, Chris and Lionel the guitarists.
Eric Di Meco confirmed the news on the show It’s up to you and took the opportunity to confide in this very special experience. “Going on stage in front of a hundred people with a bass is already a huge challenge for me, because a lot of pressure“, he admitted in video. And for the 58-year-old ex-captain of the Blues to add: “Upon entering the stage, I was much more stressed than before returning for example to Munich at the time of the Champions League final because football was my life, I was prepared for it. So going into a full stadium, it galvanized me more than it inhibited me, whereas there, I admit that it was hot.“Especially since it always takes a certain amount of time for the athlete who has become a consultant on RMC”to relax” on the scene.
We will still have to be patient before knowing whether or not Eric Di Meco and his group have managed to convince coaches Amel Bent, Vianney, Marc Lavoine and Florent Pagny. But for the bassist, the goal was elsewhere. “When we stop playing football, we all look a little bit elsewhere for sensations that we lose when we stop. Entering a pitch in front of 80,000 people has almost become a drug, so maybe that’s also why we’re all more or less in the media. We want to stay in the light, to experience a bit of the adrenaline rushand I feel that going on stage“, he explained.
Eric Di Meco’s performance will be on view on Saturday March 19 in The Voice on TF1.
