The LFI Chairman of the Assembly’s Finance Committee wonders about the large companies which say they do not make profits in France and which therefore do not pay corporation tax.

“I will launch a fact-finding mission on the issue of corporate taxation”declared Eric Coquerel, chairman of the Finance Committee at the National Assembly, Friday July 29 on franceinfo. “IIt is not normal that SMEs pay almost 25% taxes in France while the 300 largest companies pay 17% and CAC40 companies like Total do not pay taxes”explains the deputy La France insoumise.

TRUE OR FAKE >> Is the price increase “largely due to speculation by large groups”, as LFI deputy Adrien Quatennens asserts?

“When Total or Renault announce zero corporate taxes, supposedly because in France they are losing money, while they are making money elsewhere, there is something wrong.is indignant Eric Coquerel. I absolutely do not believe that Total does not make a profit in France.”

“It is at least tax optimization, taken very far”denounces the chairman of the Finance Committee of the National Assembly, who sees “one of the hallmarks of certain CAC40 companies”. He sees a “grey area” tax optimization “with companies well advised by law firms that use tax loopholes”.

“We will have to work for there to be greater tax justice and also for it to bring money into the state coffers.”
