Éric Ciotti “approves the idea of ​​an international coalition” against Hamas defended by Emmanuel Macron

“What the President of the Republic says is clear and I approve of the idea,” reacts Wednesday October 25 on France Inter, Éric Ciotti, the president of the Republicans (LR) and deputy for Alpes-Maritimes. Following a bilateral meeting in Jerusalem with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday, Emmanuel Macron declared: “France is ready for the international coalition against Daesh, within which we are engaged for our operation in Iraq and Syria, to also be able to fight against Hamas.”

“I share the mind. The idea may be relevant”believes Éric Ciotti because “the prerequisite for any diplomatic development is the eradication of Hamas”. The MP adds: “It must !”. The elected official believes that the two-state solution “which has been part of the French diplomatic catechism for years and which, on paper, it is understood, cannot be done as long as there is Hamas.”

“An international right to combat terrorism”

Éric Ciotti thus pleads for a “the broadest possible coalition” aiming to “destroy Hamas which is an abomination”. If he assures that “international humanitarian law must be respected”the president of the Republicans considers that there is “also an international right to fight terrorists”. This right, he continues, has “been in force against Daesh, it must be in force against Hamas.” The Islamic State group “was almost eliminated thanks in particular to the international coalition”, he congratulates himself.

Furthermore, Éric Ciotti asks Qatar to “clarify and remove ambiguities” towards the Palestinian Islamist movement and more generally on “his support [financier] to Islamist organizations. “They are unbearable and I denounce them”he declares.
