Surprise duel for the LR nomination in the presidential election. Eric Ciotti and Valérie Pécresse qualified for the second round of the party’s congress, its president, Christian Jacob, announced Thursday, December 2.

The deputy of the Alpes-Maritimes received in the first round of the ballot 25.59% of the votes, and the president of Ile-de-France 25%, against 23.93% for Michel Barnier, 22.36% for Xavier Bertrand and 3.13% to Philippe Juvin.
A few minutes after the announcement of the results, Xavier Bertrand called on Twitter to vote for Valérie Pécresse, followed by Philippe Juvin.
