Éric Chacour was not selected among the finalists for the Renaudot prize

Éric Chacour has completed his tour of recognition of French literary prizes. What I know about youpublished in Quebec by Alto and in France by Philippe Rey, was not selected among the finalists for the Renaudot prize, during the exceptional journey of this first novel in France.

Première Plume Prize for emerging authors, What I know about you had also managed to sneak into the first list of the Prix Femina.

The Renaudot finalist novels are The madman (Grasset) by Sorj Chalandon, Panorama (Gallimard) by Lilia Hassaine, Humus (The Observatory) by Gaspard Koenig, Jules and Jo (Denoël) by Alexis Salatko and The Insolent (Calmann-Lévy) by Ann Scott.

On the essay side, Émile Ajar’s “interpreter”, Paul Pavlowitch, is there with All immortals (Buchet-Chastel). With him, Jean-Luc Barré for De Gaulle, a life: nobody’s man (Grasset), Bruno de Cessole with The Scepter and the Feather (Perrin) and Hubert Haddad, Art and its mirror (Zulma).

To date, Dominique Fortier is the only Quebecer to have won the Renaudot, on the testing side, in 2020, with Paper townsabout the life of the poet Emily Dickinson.

This year’s Renaudot winners will be revealed on November 7.
