Éric Chacour still in the running for the Femina prize

Selected in the first list of the Renaudot prize for his novel What I know about youQuebecer Éric Chacour found himself among the 10 titles in the second Femina selection on Tuesday.


The author, for whom this is his first novel, tells the story of Tarek, a doctor in Cairo in the 1980s who will be pushed into exile. It was published in January in Quebec by Alto and it came third in the best-selling novels as part of the August 12, I’m buying a Quebec book movement. In France, it was published on August 24 by publisher Philippe Rey and has already won the Première Plume prize, which aims to highlight emerging authors.

The finalists will be revealed on October 24 and the winner will be announced on November 6.

Last year, it was Claudie Hunzinger who won over the exclusively female jury of Femina with her novel A dog at my tablepublished by Grasset.
