Eric Abidal’s wife wants to “stop the rumor”

Hayet Abidal, the wife of Eric Abidal cited in the investigation into the attack on PSG footballer Kheira Hamraoui, asked, Tuesday, November 16, to be heard by investigators “in order to stop the rumor”, because she did not “nothing to do with these facts”, according to his lawyer.

His client “will not comment on this case and wishes to be heard as quickly as possible by the investigators or the magistrate in charge of the case”, he added.

The chip used in the phone of Kheira Hamraoui, violently attacked on November 4 near Paris, was in the name of ex-international Eric Abidal. Kheira Hamraoui had explained to investigators that this chip was “in the name of his ex”, according to a source familiar with the matter. The player played for FC Barcelona at a time when Eric Abidal was sporting director of the Catalan club.

The hypothesis of a revenge in love with Abidal’s entourage is “one track considered among others”, the Versailles prosecutor told AFP on Monday, believing that “nothing is founded” but not however excluding the possibility that Abidal’s wife, Hayet, will be heard like him. A few hours earlier, Tuesday, Kheira Hamraoui had called, by way of a press release, for the respect of his private life and wished that the investigators could “conduct their investigations calmly”. The investigation was entrusted Monday to an examining magistrate.
