Environment: sorting food waste will soon be compulsory at home

Sorting biodegradable waste will be an obligation for individuals from January 1, 2024.

80kg of food waste per person per year

Today, a third of our waste is food waste, more than 80kg per person per year. In the new bin, you can throw in meal preparations such as peelings, shells or leftover meat, fish and dairy products. The community of communes provided Juliette with a collection bin that she was able to install in her garden. In Lyon (Rhône), a quarter of the metropolis is equipped with its new bio-waste containers.
