Tuesday October 10, 2023 against Pascal Praud on CNEWS. Indeed, the singer came out of his control after the comments of certain members of LFI about Hamas. For members of the left-wing political party, this movement would not be “terrorist”despite the attacks perpetrated by it on October 7 against Israel.
In front of Enrico Macias, Pascal Praud tried to calm the situation. In particular by trying to put his guest on the right path in these remarks: “Politically!”he intervened before the artist retorted and assumed: “No! No! We also have to physically destroy them!” “No, please. Let’s not say that. I withdraw this sentence, which you did not think of, for yourself. We cannot go with this type of injunction”then tried to catch up with the presenter.

Enrico Macias recovers
Two days after this slip-up, Mathilde Panot, the president of the LFI group in the Assembly, indicated in a letter addressed to the Paris prosecutor, that the comments ofEnrico Macias constitute “a call to physically attack the members of La France insoumise”. In fact, LFI contacted the prosecutor under article 40 of the code of criminal procedure, which allows “any constituted authority, any public officer or civil servant”to report facts or comments to the courts.
No doubt aware of having gone too far, Enrico Macias spoke this Thursday to return to his comments. “To put an end to all controversies following my comments yesterday on CNews, I obviously call for no physical violence”he wrote on his social networks before continuing: “These remarks were made clumsily under the influence of emotion and anger following the shocking attitude of rebellious France which refuses to qualify the barbaric attacks perpetrated in Israel as terrorism”. Fault admitted half forgiven but will that be enough for LFI?
