A chilling testimony. Mason Greenwood, Manchester United striker, was accused of domestic violence by his partner, Sunday January 30. Manchester (England) police have announced the opening of an investigation against the 20-year-old player. “Investigations are underway to establish all the circumstances‘ a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson told the Manchester Evening News.
On her Instagram account, Harriet Robson, companion of Mason Greenwood, posted several images of her with a bloody mouth, as well as traces of blows on her arms and legs, accompanied by the phrase “For anyone who wants to know what Mason Greenwood does to me“.
She also posted a sound clip, dated October 21, 2021, of a verbal exchange with a man. “Harriet, spread your legs” can we hear. “No, I don’t want sex! Mason!“replied the young woman. “Shut up (…) I don’t care if you don’t want to!“continues the man, before threatening her”I asked you politely and you don’t want to do it, what do you want me to do?“. The posts have since been taken down.
“We are aware of the images and accusations circulating on social networksreacted the Manchester United club in a press release at the end of the morning. We will not comment further until the facts have been established. Manchester United does not tolerate any form of violence.”
The case erupts as another Premier League player faces sexual assault charges. Accused of seven rapes and a sexual assault, Frenchman Benjamin Mendy (Manchester City) was remanded in custody in August 2021. He was released on bail and placed under judicial supervision on January 7, 2022. His trial was postponed in the summer of 2022.
