It’s not just the Blues who are at a standstill in this League of Nations. Unhappy finalist of the Euro last summer against Italy, England did not manage to afford a revenge (0-0), Saturday June 11 in Molineux, the den of Wolverhampton.
Without Harry Kane, Bukayo Saka or Jordan Pickford, left on the bench at kick-off, Gareth Southgate’s men had all the trouble in the world to bring danger to the goal of the captain of Squadra Azzurra, Gianluigi Donnarumma. Consequence: the Three Lions stall in the standings in Group 3 with two points (two draws and one loss).
In the other match of the evening, the surprising Hungary managed to hold Germany in check (1-1) in Budapest and is hot on the heels of Italy (second with four points, one length behind the Transalpins).

In Group 4, the Netherlands and Poland had a tense match in Rotterdam. The game accelerated at the start of the second half: trailing 0-1 at the break after a goal from Matty Cash, the Dutch conceded a second goal as soon as Piotr Zielinski returned from the locker room. But the break didn’t last long as the Oranje replied with two goals in three minutes – from Davy Klaassen and Denzel Dumfries – to come back to the score. In added time, Memphis Depay missed the winning penalty after a hard shot on the post. Do not panic however for the men of Louis van Gaal, who remain at the top of the standings with seven units.
In the other meeting, Belgium thought they would hold their second consecutive victory against Wales after their card against Poland (6-1) on the second day. Youri Tielemans put the Red Devils on track but at the very end of the match, Brennan Johnson allowed the Welsh to snatch the point from a draw (1-1).
