From January 1, 2024, the MaPrimeRénov’ system will only cover total renovations for housing classified F or G. This measure aims in particular to achieve the objectives of reducing greenhouse gases.

Greener heating for this winter, that’s Pascal’s goal Gury with a brand new heat pump. This installation is still eligible for the system MaPrimeRénov‘, but it won’t last for everyone. As of January 1, 2024, for housing classified F or G by the energy performance diagnosis (DPE)only total renovations can be financed.

A growing budget

This change in government strategy worries an energy renovation specialist. “Our fear is that the end of aid for work carried out separately will signal a significant slowdown for the sector and all construction companies”explains Frédéric Utzmannpresident of Effy.

The government’s objective is to favor only very large works, which are more effective in achieving the reduction in 55% greenhouse gases by 2030. To do this, the State is increasing the budget of MaPrimeRénov’ with an additional 1.6 billion euros. The aid ceilings are increased, up to 70,000 euros, compared to 35,000 today. Families with the lowest incomes may be supported up to 90%. With these changes, the executive is targeting 200,000 overall renovations for 2024.
