Some companies are already very engaged in the hunt for waste, in order to reduce their energy bills. Report in Seine-Saint-Denis, in the North and in Haute Marne.

Three companies, a hypermarket, a joinery and La Poste, have found a solution to lower their energy bills. In a Bagnolet hypermarket (Seine-Saint-Denis)the fresh produce departments that did not have a door were closed. They are being replaced by much less energy-consuming furniture. Results : 25 % less on the electricity bill. In workshops near Lille (North)custom-made wooden furniture has been manufactured for three generations. Two years ago, the company was heating with gas, before moving and heating with wood chips.

Pipes suck up the shavings on each workbench, and the offcuts are crushed. These 400 tonnes of waste are then stored in two large silos. Enough to feed the biomass boiler, which operates 24 hours a day. Ambient temperature : 21° C. From his side, Sandrine Britvec has been a letter carrier in Haute-Marne for 26 years. For six months, a box installed in his car allows him to manage maneuvers that increase his fuel consumption. Thanks to the box, its consumption has been reduced by 20%.
