The Brussels summit, devoted to the subject of energy, was talked about for its showdown between Germany and several countries, including France. Live from Brussels, journalist Julien GasparuttoFriday, October 21, takes stock of the situation.
The Brussels Summit (Belgium) ends better than it opened, Thursday, October 20. “In any case, this is the message that European leaders wanted to convey: they are united and want to work together on this energy crisis”reports journalist Julien Gasparuttolive from Brussels, Friday 21 October. This had the effect of reassuring the markets, especially since a minimum agreement was reached.
“The 27 have agreed on a roadmap to put in place measures in the coming weeks to lower energy prices, for example group purchases between member states to better negotiate prices”explains Julian Gasparutto. However, on the issue of gas price caps, “not sure that we have made much progress”. Germany has doubts and the Netherlands are also reserved. The discussions are therefore not over.
