Endemol, the company which produces “Star Académy”, announced on Sunday February 4, on the social network X, that it had launched an investigation to understand how the far-right newspaper, Rivarolcould have been used during a scene in the “Star Academy” final, broadcast on TF1 on Saturday evening. “We regret and strongly condemn that a propaganda newspaper, in total opposition to the values of the Star Academy, appeared in a painting last night during the final”we can read. “We are currently investigating to understand how this was posted during the broadcast. The necessary sanctions will be taken accordingly”, adds Endemol. The company presents its “apologies to the viewers.
It was Tristan Mendès France, specialist in digital cultures and online extremism, who alerted. “I had to go check because it’s so absurd,” he assured on once convicted by the courts.
Several politicians immediately expressed their disapproval. “Ignorance and widespread irresponsibility do a lot of damage”, reacted on X the socialist David Assouline. Centrist senator Nathalie Goulet questioned, on the same network, Arcom, the audiovisual policeman. “Could you take hold of this infamy (…)?”she wrote.
