Jay Du Temple will carry out what he calls a “crazy idea” next spring. To end his tour END, the comedian will give shows across Canada. The unusual element of his project? He will travel the country running and cycling.
Jay Du Temple unveiled the dates of this Canadian tour on Tuesday on social networks, which will take him to Moncton, Vancouver, Calgary, Saskatoon, Sudbury and Toronto. In a new episode of his podcast Jay Du Temple discussesthe comedian explains in detail how this project was born and how it will be deployed.
The man who ended his previous tour by giving a show at the Bell Center and having his head shaved for Leucan was looking for a unique way to close the chapter of END.
Last winter, while training for an Ironman, Jay Du Temple listened to podcasts of runners who had raced across the United States and Australia.
“I was listening to it on the stationary bike and, at one point, it occurred to me: I could run and bike across Canada to do shows,” he says.
This is what he will do from May 7 to July 22. He estimates he will run approximately 750 km and cycle 6,000 km, while raising funds for the Douglas Foundation and mental health research.
“It’s the most me project in the world. What I love in life is performing and playing sports. There, it’s a mix of the two,” adds the comedian in the episode.
The tour, presented entirely in French, will end in Montreal, at Place des Arts. Jay Du Temple will be performing there for five evenings, in five different venues.
