The rise in Covid-19 cases in France could threaten the Christmas and end-of-year celebrations.
As the end of the year holidays approach, the Covid-19 is resurfacing in France, with an increase in cases every day. A surprise guest and unwanted by the French who do not prefer to think about it for the moment. “We will see, and then if things go wrong, we will make the arrangements”, declares a passer-by. The curve of Covid-19 cases detected every day in France could continue to increase if the barrier gestures and vaccinations are not sufficient.
“The speed of propagation is currently fast”, says Jean-Stéphane Dhersin, researcher at CNRS and specialist in epidemic modeling. According to specialists, if nothing is done, France could record nearly 30,000 cases per day during the Christmas holidays. “We must avoid gatherings at 10, 15, 20 or 30”, specifies Dr Damien Mascret, doctor and journalist France Télévisions. Barrier measures to be applied among the French to avoid an increase in Covid-19 cases after the holidays.
