Since Monday, February 28, in the morning, the mask is no longer compulsory in all places open to the public and subject to the vaccination pass. A relief, especially for all professionals in the hotel and catering industry.
Michael Laugier, server at La Samaritaine bar in Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône), is happy on Monday February 28. This is the first time, in almost two years, that he has worked without the mask. “It’s better, we can rework, relive, breathe again”, he confides. In all places subject to the vaccination pass, customers can also remove the mask. Many have nevertheless kept the reflex.
The news is greeted with relief for professionals. For Haythem Ben Slimen, co-manager of Le Mistral bar, the end of wearing a mask rhymes with an end to stress. “We had to punish the staff, to force them to put on the mask. Customers, sometimes, we pass for unpleasant people, when we have to pass the law”, explains the latter. Just like in bars and restaurants, the mask is no longer required in museums and cinemas. It remains mandatory in transport and enclosed places that are not subject to the vaccination pass.
