End of the strike at the Mardyck fuel depot, near Dunkirk

Mobilization is running out of steam in depots and refineries. After those of the Donges refinery, it is the turn of the striking employees of the Mardyck depot, near Dunkirk, and the La Mède refinery in the Bouches-du-Rhône, to vote the end of the strike, this Wednesday October 19 in the evening.

The end of three weeks of strike

The strike in Mardyck lasted a total of 23 days. On September 27, the employees went on strike to demand an increase in their wages. The trucks no longer left the depot to supply the service stations in the region: Hauts-de-France was for a time the region most affected in France by the fuel shortage.

After the requisition of six striking employees, the depot began to function normally again from Thursday, October 13th. Today in the region, 10 to 25% of stations are out of diesel, 1 to 8% out of gasoline.
