Arriving on the banks of the Isar in 2017 for a transfer of around 40 million euros from Lyon, the Rhodanian has experienced ups and downs across the Rhine. After a successful first season where he played 40 games, won the championship, then won the World Cup with the France team, he was seriously injured, victim of a rupture of the cruciate ligaments which stopped him in full ascent. He followed that up with an empty season where he played four games and only played 81 minutes.
Never returned to 100%, and again injured, suffering from a muscle tear in the thigh in 2021, he played between 22 and 28 games the following three seasons with a playing time around 50 minutes per game. Winner of the Champions League in 2020, he only returned in the 86th minute in the final.
In total, he leaves Bayern with five Bundesliga, two German Cups, three national Supercups and one continental, as well as a Club World Cup and a Champions League. His track record is impressive, but his image, which has deteriorated over the years with injuries, sticks to his skin. At 27, Tolisso wants to show that he still has many good years to offer to top clubs.
