Netflix’s decision to prevent the sharing of passwords for the same account is causing serious concern for a man who has been waiting five months for surgery at Vancouver General Hospital.

According to information reported by CTV News, Carlo Sallazzo was using Netflix to pass the time, until he could receive a double lung transplant. But with new regulations imposed by Netflix, which requires devices to register with a home Wi-Fi network every 30 days, the man risks losing his access.
“Coming home every 30 days seems reasonable from Netflix’s perspective, but there are a lot of situations where it’s very poorly applied,” Sallazzo said.
For a fee of $7.99 per month, users can add additional members outside of their residence. The man who is currently staying in the hospital, however, believes that it is nonsense to pay an additional sum in his case. Netflix did not respond to CTV News when asked about such circumstances.
Carlo Sallazzo will turn to another company to entertain himself if Netflix does not change its tune to accommodate him.
