The Ministry of Family is investigating a disturbing video shot Thursday where a Quebec teenager forces a young baby to smoke an electronic cigarette in a daycare center in Mirabel.
“The Ministry takes the situation very seriously. The health and safety of children is an absolute priority”, confirms to the LogBryan St-Louis, spokesperson for the ministry of the family.
He adds that the Director of Youth Protection (DPJ) was also contacted to look into this disturbing 10-second video posted on Instagram on Thursday. We see in this one a baby sucking two big inhalations from a vapoteuse.
The baby suffocates immediately, while the young Quebecer filming the scene laughs out loud.
“When you have nothing to do and you decide to smoke a 16-month-old baby,” reads a post shared on the teenager’s Instagram page.
In a daycare
According to our information, the video was shot in a daycare center located in the Saint-Augustin sector in Mirabel.
“After verification, this is not a family childcare service recognized by the Ministry of the Family. If there are services offered, it is as an unrecognized person,” says Bryan St-Louis.
The Mirabel City Police Department confirmed to VAT News that an investigation is underway in this case.
