From his studio in Omdurman, a suburb of Khartoum, the news presenter updated listeners on the latest developments in the raging fighting.
He claimed the situation was “calm” near state television studios before being interrupted by gunfire.
From the 75th second of the excerpt above, gunshots can be heard. A few seconds later, the televised bulletin is stopped.

Growing tensions
Sudan and the capital Khartoum are the prey of violent clashes, while paramilitaries attacked soldiers of the Sudanese army.
The paramilitaries claim to have taken control of the presidential palace as well as the international airport of Khartoum, an information denied by the State.
