The operation to dismantle the Boulevard des Galeries-d’Anjou viaduct which overlooks Highway 40 began overnight from Saturday to Sunday, in the east of Montreal, and ended in the morning.

On the images captured by our patroller, we can see specialized teams busy dismantling the aerial structure.
Several construction workers were at work to complete the operation as quickly as possible.
A spokesperson for the Quebec Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility explains what the work in the area consisted of this weekend.
“It’s mainly demolition, with machinery that was used to dismantle it well. It’s still delicate work, because it’s two structures, “said Martin Girard.
“You have to protect the new structure so as not to damage it.”
The lanes that had been closed to traffic in both directions since 10 p.m. Saturday have now reopened to traffic.
