Last year, due to the pandemic, the man with the white beard was unable to come and settle there as he usually does.

But this year, to the delight of the little ones (and the older ones), the Noël couple is back to welcome the curious.

“I was really looking forward to seeing the little ones again,” admits Santa Claus, in an interview with TVA Nouvelles.

While Santa Claus meets the children and takes their requests down, Santa Claus is not idle.

“During the day, I make the pastries. Then in the evening, we sell them, ”she explains.

Obviously, the reindeer are also present and impatiently waiting to receive carrots.

Height of happiness, at nightfall, more than 150,000 lights illuminate the house and create a magical atmosphere.

Over the years, the village of Santa Claus has modernized with the construction of a hardware store and an electronic device store.

“A lot of adults say, ‘We find our child’s heart again when we come here.’ It’s magical, ”says Kathlyn Bolduc, Secretary of Destination Boréale.

Train rides, and even an outdoor cinema, all of this is possible thanks to a handful of employees from the Destination Boréale organization and volunteers.

An attraction that has become a tradition for many who return there every year.

“It’s a tradition, we’ve been doing it for several years. Then, every year, it’s a must, because as I say, it puts joy in our hearts, ”says a father who came to say hello to Santa Claus.

The man with the white beard and red coat is due to return to the North Pole on January 2.
