Employees of the Ehpad Orpea in Schiltigheim on “unlimited” strike from this Friday

The Aar nursing home in Schiltigheim, from the Orpea group, will be shaken by a strike action from 6:30 a.m. this Friday for an unlimited period, like at least fifteen of the group’s establishments. The strike call, relayed by the CGT, aims to challenge the company’s decision not to grant a profit-sharing bonus to its employees.

Under the fire of criticism since the publication in January of the investigative book “Les Fossoyeurs” by journalist Victor Castanet, the management of the company argues that its financial results “unfortunately did not allow to pay an incentive this year”. Usually, this bonus was around 700 euros, according to the CGT.

On the other hand, Orpea is preparing to pay a “exceptional purchasing power bonus”known as the “Macron” bonus, of 1,000 euros per employee, adds the management, specifying that the decision had been taken “even before the announcement of this strike movement”.
