While a bill aims to ban eternal pollutants, employees and managers of the SEB group went to Paris to voice their disagreement on Wednesday April 3.

Early in the morning of Wednesday April 3, from eight cities in France, more than 600 employees of the SEB group took buses to Paris to join their managers. They are protesting against a bill, which threatens to close, according to them, their factory in Haute-Savoie. “We are fighting for our jobs”confides an employee.

Eternal pollutants

This bill aims to ban the use of eternal pollutants, called PFAS. The problem for the group, created more than 160 years ago, is that it is present in the composition of several of their products, and in particular in the coating of their famous stoves. This event is supported and organized by management. The latter ensures that only one of these substances is used in the manufacture of utensils, and that it is not harmful.
