Housing, supplies, furniture: all prices are up. This is why Emmaüs organizes solidarity sales for students.

On the shelves of an Emmaüs store in Escalquens (Haute-Garonne), students are looking for low-cost equipment. Here begins a clearance sale intended for them, with 30% reduction on crockery, furniture or household appliances. A way to fight against student precariousness. Young people like it. Foreign students are particularly affected, as almost all of them do not benefit from scholarships to study.

According to a study, in Toulouse (Haute-Garonne), the average price that a student must pay for his return to school reaches 2,324 euros. An amount that has become increasingly difficult to assume, at a time when inflation is raging with full force in France. For the vice-president of the Toulouse Crous, it is up to the State to relieve student precariousness. Housing, various equipment: the start of the new school year promises to be particularly expensive for students. The Emmaus solidarity operation will end on October 15.
