A new lounge has just opened in town, half-hidden, half-tucked away on the 5th floor of 2-22, in the heart of the Quartier des spectacles. Her name ? Emmanuelle, ladies and gentlemen. Yes, like the movie. Better: in reference to the film!
It’s not a bar. Even less a nightclub, but a living room. Think: leather sofas, coffee tables, background music and small dishes to share. To eat what? Refined bites, it goes without saying, ranging from oysters (caviar and sour cream) to foie gras (on a tartlet) via agnolotti (with green peas) and mackerel (with pomelo). A menu signed by Nick Bramos (Marcus, Toqué!, Taverne Monkland and today co-owner of Succeda), who has drawn here from his memories, his travels, and his inspirations of the moment (and from his mother’s cooking!).

One of the cocktails on the menu

We owe this new address to the DJ and entrepreneur Donald Lauture, where we hope to attract a clientele of professionals, in need of refined places of the genre. He called on Zébulon Perron (Furco, Parvis, Rouge Gorge, Marcus) to carry out the design, in particular its four-season pergola, with a breathtaking view of the city. The decoration tastefully mixes rooms vintage and contemporary decor, for a cozy and truly distinguished atmosphere. All that’s missing is a grand piano, which we’re probably promised soon, we whisper.

Leather bench, onyx coffee table, velvet stools, gilding: the decoration is inspired by the 1970s, but with a resolutely contemporary touch.

New lounge Emmanuelle
1/4
As for cocktails, the menu offers creations with evocative names (Emmanuelle, of course, but also Poudré, or why not Garden Sensual, Indépendante or Scandale). A short wine list rounds it all off.
Note that the map also suggests a label, inviting visitors to “forget [leurs] digital distractions at the door”. Small dishes from $9 to $180 (the caviar). Cocktails from $22.
