The President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, gave a press conference on Wednesday June 12, three days after the dissolution of the National Assembly.
After the very poor score of his majority and the historic victory of the National Rally, Emmanuel Macron returned in campaign clothing this Wednesday, June 12, to a press conference. With a conviction hammered home several times in front of journalists: the dissolution of the National Assembly, decided on June 9 after the results of the European elections, was inevitable.
Whatever the scenarios, Emmanuel Macron will not resign, but he has heard the message from the polls. The head of state thus proposed a sort of federation combining social democrats, environmentalists and Gaullists to refuse the extremes and govern tomorrow. Given the dynamics, this is a difficult goal to achieve. The legislative elections will take place on June 30 and July 7.
