The President of the Republic wants to be reassuring. 244 municipalities in Pas-de-Calais and around thirty in the North must be classified as natural disasters.

Large cleaning plan

Emmanuel Macron also announced the creation of a 50 million euro support fund, in order to help communities meet initial expenses. The Head of State also assures that a major plan will be launched to allow the resumption of stream cleaning. “The regulations are too heavy, and it is sometimes not done regularly. And so, we are going to launch, first of all, a profound simplification and a major plan (…) to be able to resume this cleaning as soon as possible and to make it possible to avoid these phenomena like those that we are experiencing.“, declared Emmanuel Macron.
