Emmanuel Macron “will pay national tribute to prison captain Fabrice Moello and brigadier supervisor Arnaud Garcia”, announces the Elysée, Sunday May 19. The ceremony will take place on Wednesday May 22 at noon at the former Caen remand prison (Calvados). The two prison officers were killed last Tuesday in the attack on their van in Incarville (Eure). THE ambush, which allowed the escape of a repeat offender prisoner, also left three people injured.

Some “350 investigators” are mobilized on the trail of the perpetrators of the attack and the fleeing detainee, Mohamed Amra, and “They are progressing very well” in their investigations, said Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin on Thursday.

After Tuesday’s events, prison officers began blocking the prisons. Almost everywhere in France, this movement led to disruptions in the functioning of justice for three days, including the postponement or interruption of trials, when the defendants or accused could not be taken from their cells to appear. To answer it,he Ministry of Justice made proposals on Friday evening to strengthen the security of agents.
