Emmanuel Macron will participate in the peace summit for Ukraine in Switzerland in mid-June

Emmanuel Macron “participate in” at the peace summit for Ukraine which is to be held in Switzerland in mid-June, the Elysée announced on Wednesday June 5. Besides military support for Ukraine “in the time”France intends to bring “his political and diplomatic support”declared the presidency.

Ukraine hopes to gain broad international support there, by setting out the conditions it considers necessary to end the war against Russia. More than a hundred countries and organizations have committed to participating in this summit, according to Volodymyr Zelensky. The Ukrainian president urged countries in the Asia-Pacific region to join.

Some heads of state, including Joe Biden, have already made it known that they will not make the trip. The United States will nevertheless be represented by its vice-president, Kamala Harris, the White House said on Monday.
