Elisabeth Borne presented her resignation on Monday January 8. Gabriel Attal, Minister of Education, could replace her. Aurélie Trouvé, La France Insoumise MP for Seine-Saint-Denis, was the guest of 19/20 info.

Gabriel Attal could succeed Elisabeth Borne as Prime Minister on Monday January 8. “From my point of view, Gabriel Attal is a political leader serving Emmanuel Macron for five years (…) he is the heart of the macronie, he is a fierce macronist (…) He has little of political experience and Emmanuel Macron will be able to continue to impose his own choices”according to Aurélie Trouvé, La France Insoumise MP for Seine-Saint-Denis.

“Not the best signal”

The MP is asking the government for a vote of confidence. “It is for us a basis of parliamentary democracy, that there is a vote of confidence requested on the basis of a project (…) I have all the fears that Emmanuel Macron will continue to govern in a manner authoritarian”defends Aurélie Trouvé. Elisabeth Borne is the second Prime Minister in the history of the Fifth Republic. She will probably be replaced by a man. “It’s not the best signal,” believes the LFI MP.
