Emmanuel Macron went to Le Havre (Seine-Maritime) on Thursday April 14. Accompanied in particular by Edouard Philippe, he spoke of ecology and did not fail to criticize the proposals of Marine Le Pen.

It’s almost an image of the old world. Emmanuel Macron was present alongside Edouard Philippe in Le Havre (Seine-Maritime) Thursday, April 14. In the stronghold of his former Prime Minister, the president-candidate came second in the first round of the presidential election, ahead of Jean-Luc Mélenchon. During his visit, he took the time to chat with people from Le Havre.

On the port site of Le Havre, France’s leading container port, Emmanuel Macron praised the merits of free trade but also criticized his opponent in the second round. “Madame Le Pen’s policy for Le Havre is very simple. It means controls, procedures that will make the arrival of container ships here totally non-competitive”, he says. He also spoke about ecology during his visit to the Siemens Gamesa factory where 500 jobs have been created to manufacture wind turbines at sea, stressing that Marine Le Pen wants to eliminate these wind turbines. Ten days before the second round, the President of the Republic is credited with 55% of the voting intentions in the second round against 45% for his rival.
