In an interview published in “La Tribune Dimanche”, on May 5, the President of the Republic took advantage of the anniversary of his seven years at the Élysée to discuss his regrets, in particular concerning the retirement with points. It also reaffirms certain ambitions, such as full employment.

Raising the situation for the first time, Emmanuel Macron condemned, on Sunday May 5, the blocking of certain French universities. “Ordering an establishment to have this or that policy by force and blockade (…), that is not the Republic” he told La Tribune Sunday. As the European elections approach, the head of state also called on his Prime Minister, Gabriel Attal, to get involved in the campaign.

In this interview, which marks its seven years at the Élysée, the president also evokes certain regrets. “I would have liked to reform pensions by points. (…) The Yellow Vest crisis then the Covid prevented us from doing so“, he declares in particular. For his three remaining years in power, he mentions, among other ambitions, full employment, “rearmament” of the education and health system, or even the ecological transition.
