Time to take stock. Emmanuel Macron said on Sunday, August 11, in an interview with The Team, that “It was much more responsible to clarify” the political situation by dissolving the National Assembly “Before” the Olympic Games, considering that this decision had not “wasted”.

“The message that the French sent is very consistent with the Games: work together. That’s what they said to the political forces” during the early legislative elections on June 30 and July 7, added the head of state, while a new government should be appointed in the coming days.

Emmanuel Macron also has “thanked” the mayor of Paris, the socialist Anne Hidalgo, and the president of the Ile-de-France region, Valérie Pécresse, at the end of the Paris Olympics, recalling that all three were “competing against each other for the presidential election” of 2022. “And yet, we worked together”the head of state welcomed.

“A huge amount of work has been done by government departments, local authorities, the sports movement, federations… It’s proof that France, when it comes together, can do great things.”
