During a meeting that took place on the morning of Friday, July 12 at the Élysée, the atmosphere was frosty between Emmanuel Macron and Renaissance executives. Back from Washington, the head of state lectured Gabriel Attal, Gérald Darmanin and Yaël Braun-Pivet.
The meeting lasted nearly two hours behind the doors of the Élysée Palace on Friday, July 12. Emmanuel Macron received his Prime Minister, Gabriel Attal, Gérald Darmanin, Yaël Braun-Pivet and Élisabeth Borne at the end of the morning. He was keen to bring these leading figures of the presidential party back into line, and did not mince his words when talking about “disastrous spectacle” given by his camp during a week marked by internal divergences on the line, or the governance of the group freshly elected to the Assembly.
President, returned from the NATO summit, called for calm and felt that the premature ambitions of some of his ministers should be put aside. He indulged in a few confidences, notably on the resignation of the Prime Minister. Gabriel Attal is expected to resign on Tuesday, July 16, after the Council of Ministers on Monday.
