Emmanuel Macron promises a resumption of “control of the price of our electricity”

Emmanuel Macron brought together, on Monday September 25, the Ecological Planning Council created after his re-election, with Elisabeth Borne and the ministers concerned. At the end of this meeting, the president took the floor for a series of announcements. The head of state notably promised a resumption of “control of the price of our electricity” so that this energy is “sustainable both for our businesses and for our households”in a context of inflation and still high energy prices. The president wants prices that are “compatible” with the requirements of “competitiveness” and give “visibility for both households and our industrialists”.

Emmanuel Macron wants a “French-style ecology”. “I am convinced that we have a path which is that of French ecology”the head of state had already declared on Sunday evening during his television interview. “Our objective (…) is to build a French-style ecology”repeated the president on Monday, who would not “neither an ecology of denial nor an ecology of treatment”.

Towards a tripling of heat pump production? France will have to produce “a million heat pumps” by the end of the five-year term, triple the current production, announced Emmanuel Macron. The President of the Republic thus intends “develop an industrial heat pump sector which is a formidable lever of substitution, much less consuming and emitting”.

An envelope to build metropolitan RERs. The State will allocate 700 million euros “to accompany” the construction of metropolitan RERs, announced Emmanuel Macron at the end of an Ecological Planning Council at the Elysée. “We selected 13 projects”declared the head of state.
