One week before the start of the school year, Emmanuel Macron detailed his roadmap for school, Thursday August 25. The Head of State recognizes shortcomings in the French education system. First, teachers’ salaries. “We have, on the basis of the work of the Grenelle, started a general revaluation of the remuneration two years ago. It will be continued, and will ensure that no professor will start his career with less than 2,000€ net”announced Emmanuel Macron.

In addition to the question of salary, Emmanuel Macron intends to reform the vocational high school, with in particular an increase in internship time by 50%. He also wants to create an educational innovation fund of at least 500 million euros, for establishments wishing to set up a specific project. Finally, the Head of State put on the table the subject of teacher training, potentially explosive before the back-to-school conference of the Minister of National Education, Friday, August 26.
