The National Commission for the Control of the Electoral Campaign for the Presidential Election (CNCCEP), whose mission is to ensure the smooth running of the campaign “taking care to preserve the free expression of suffrage and fairness between the candidates“, indicates in a press release, Friday, March 11, to have “expressed, by a message of March 7, to the agent of candidate Emmanuel Macron his observations on the dissemination on the Twitter account @EmmanuelMacron of his declaration of candidacy in the form of a Letter to the French”.

She “noted in particular that such a message was related to electoral propaganda and that, given the characteristics of the use of this Twitter account, used for a long time and in a predominant way to relay messages relating to the exercise of its functions of President of the Republic, it was preferable not to use this account to disseminate such messages there”, can we also read.

“The Commission thus invited the candidate to remove this message from the @EmmanuelMacron Twitter account and to refrain from using this account to disseminate messages relating to electoral propaganda during the campaign, these messages being intended to be distributed on the account specially created by the candidate and his team for the purposes of the campaign for the presidential election”, is it also indicated.

This Friday, March 11, the “Letter to the French” no longer appeared on Emmanuel Macron’s Twitter account, although it was still there the day before. The mention “To follow the news of my campaign, go to @avecvous” has also been added to the presentation text of his account.
