Emmanuel Macron paid a last tribute to Elizabeth II, Sunday, September 18. The Head of State was accompanied by his wife, Brigitte Macron. A few minutes earlier, at 8 p.m. in Britain, the entire country observed a minute of silence. At Westminster Hall in London, there were still thousands of Britons waiting to pay their last respects to their queen. US President Joe Biden greeted the coffin of the sovereign from the balcony of Westminster, before signing the condolence booklet.

Olena Zelenska, the wife of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, also came to the scene. Nearly 500 heads of state and royalty from around the world were invited by King Charles III to a dinner at Buckingham, London, on the evening of Sunday 18 September. Emmanuel Macron, also a guest, chose as a present for the occasion a photo album retracing the Queen’s official visits to France.
