This week, Emmanuel Macron took the floor to respond in particular to health actors, including liberal doctors, who went on strike to demand an increase in their salary. Faced with this situation, the Head of State therefore promised various future measures to meet their expectations, and above all to make some changes at the hospital level. Measures that do not really suit the former Minister of Health, Roselyne Bachelot.
Indeed, this one was on the set of BFM TV to give his opinion on the statements of the President of the Republic last week. Jean-Baptiste Boursier then recalled: “Emmanuel Macron presented his wishes to the world of health this week. He announced a certain number of measures to come: end of fee-for-service, administrative/doctor tandem at the head of establishments, or even recruitment of medical assistants…ads that didn’t convince you and even worse than that, you think he knows nothing!”
The reforms promised by Emmanuel Macron, question Roselyne Bachelot
Roselyne Bachelot immediately qualified the journalist’s remarks. “Here, right away, is the journalistic exaggeration…”she dropped him before specifying: “No, I asked myself questions. The first was to know why it was not the Minister of Health who proposed the reform but the President of the Republic who did it”.
“First reform on the hospital: you need an administrative/doctor tandem. But I said to myself “it exists!”. That’s how the hospital works”she continues before indicating that she wondered, when she heard Emmanuel Macron’s proposals, that “it was not possible that “Someone didn’t explain to him how the hospital works […] the bicephaly of the nursing/administrative management exists in the hospital!”. But what really bothers him is the proposed end to fee-for-service. Because yes, which guarantees that the medical power “it is precisely the activity-based pricing […] That it needs to be improved, that it’s something complex, I know… But beware, if we come back to block grants, it’s ultimately a hospital, as Sarkozy said, where ‘everyone has the power to say no, no one has the power to say yes'”she finally concluded, always a bit up.
