President Emmanuel Macron denounced, Tuesday, May 16, the aggression “unacceptable” And “unspeakable” of a grand-nephew of his wife Brigitte on the sidelines of a demonstration against the pension reform and after his interview with “20 Hours” of TF1. “As an uncle, I consider these actions absolutely unacceptable and as President of the Republic (…) unspeakable”, he said upon arriving at a Council of Europe summit in Reykjavik, Iceland.
“He was attacked because he is our great-nephew”, insisted the Head of State, specifying that he had called him Monday evening with his wife shortly after the attack to express his “support” as well as “family”. “He was confronted with brutality, violence, stupidity and with great courage, this young dad intervened to protect his shop”, he added.
Hit in the head, arms and legs
Jean-Baptiste Trogneux, 30, boss of the famous chocolate factory of the same name in Amiens, was taken to task by several people who participated in a “casserolade” against the law on pensions.
