Emmanuel Macron decided to change the blue color of the French tricolor flags of the Elysee Palace more than a year ago, franceinfo learned from the president’s entourage, confirming information from Europe 1. The decision has been taken for July 14, 2020.
The blue which now appears on the tricolor flag is the blue used by the French Navy, chosen by the Convention in 1794. It is a blue which refers to the imagination still deployed by the president during the ceremonies of November 11 for the ‘Armistice and Hubert Germain’s entry into Mont-Valérien, specifies the entourage of the Head of State.
This change, on which the Elysee has not communicated, is not a choice in opposition to the blue used by the European flag, adds the entourage of Emmanuel Macron. “There is no war of the blues, it does not make sense”, we explain.
